Joe,

That's an interesting interior mod! To my eye, it seems like a lot of work
for not a lot of benefits - for my coach. Whoever did it did a great job
though.

I've had my Birch for less than a month and am still sorting out exactly
what I have to work with. I'm currently assembling a priority list of thing
that I need to do. Understandably the interior is in the final (lowest
priority) category.

A couple of weeks ago I finally had the pleasure to meet Jim K at Applied
GMC, and Ken Henderson while he was there fixing his Cad engine. It was a
double edged sword as it was such a pleasure to finally meet both of these
great GMC guys, but the downside is that I was also able to meet Ken's
Birchaven. Lol Man what a beauty! I could have spent hours there picking his
brain about all that he has done to his in order to incorporate many of his
ideas into my Birch. Some of Ken's ideas that I was able to ask about were
simply brilliant and executed beautifully. In fact, one of my first mods
will be the Lumina wipers and Ken's electric wiper conversion.

Guy,

I don' have much of anything left factory on the inside of my birch, so I
cannot say if this will fit. I do not have one, but the more I think about
it is easier than what I was attempting..

On another note,

Have you seen the reverse floorplan birch on fleabay?

Guy,

You are not joking - Ken’s coach is wonderful. Lifting the hood is like a trip to the library - with all the labels affixed to all the wires! His custom built dashboard looks even better in person than in pictures. So logically laid out - and gauges to monitor everything except the passenger’s weight. Of course the crowd pleaser is that gas actuated table. Brilliant.

Yes there are some very creative and talented people in the GMC world. Thankfully we don’t stand in their shadows since most of them illuminate us with their brilliance, freely and happily.

Guy,

I don't think that was a mod, the kitchen coutertop is reversed, and the bunk bed hooks are up front. I think this one left the factory that way.

There was another one in the list archives up north somewhere, but I think the new owner was modding it, so this may be number two.

Here it is:

Sold in 2010 in Illinois. It could be the same, but the dinette is definitely different, and the ebay one has aftermarket air under the dash.

Wish we had both vins.
