My coach got caught in sand storms between Pahrump Nevada & Baker CA. The paint and windows took a beating all the way around. Thus a new paint job and window replacement is in the works. I am doing a little bit of prep myself to make insurance $$ go a bit further and have a question about resealing the roof rails. I removed the passenger side rail and cleaned out much of the hardened/cracked/missing sealer that was there. There is a large gap where the rear cap meets underneath the roof rail end cap, about 1 1/2 x 5/16. You can look inside through that hole. What is the best way to fill/seal such a large opening.

Insurance is paying for most of the repair but I am doing some extra things beyond that covered by insurance. I have Progressive RV insurance and they were very prompt in processing a fair claim. They are replacing both front windshields, an allowance for the right side windows and covering most of the paint for the front & sides less those areas already damaged of flaking. I am opting to paint the entire coach including roof and replacing the side windows with the frame less ones at my expense.

3m 08370 is a single part moisture cure adhesive sealant which works well in that application because it remains flexible and will cure all the way through without Shrinkage or cracking. It can be painted over immediately after application and up to 72 hours later without sanding. The above part # is for grey. It is available also in white. I used it extensively on The Pig for the areas you are describing as well as the top roof seams and between the new cockpit floor and aluminum framing.
