My LP distributor is replacing the cylinders that he sold with steel units, direct trade. He said that he had sold about 300 units over the last few years.
The company as Bob said is basically out of business. The company had been sold last year and the new owners were trying to get all the paperwork up to date to reopen the plant to produce new cyclinders. It was discovered that the original company had fudged the test results on the fiberglass units. The specifications for approval called for the tanks to be pressure tested to 480 psi and they were tested only to 440 psi. This probably is not a real problem as the safety valves relieve at 270 psi on the production units. So everything is a mess for the new owners and they will probably go into bankrupt court. The recall order includes all fiberglass tanks made my the Lite
Cyclinder Company.

Maybe I've been living under a stump, but I've never seen a composit tank before this thread started. Must be a northern thing.
