As many of you know the nutzerts, or rivnuts, that hold up the upper cabinets frequently spin in their holes making it great fun to remove the bolts. I used a bolt cutter on some stuck bolts, but simply couldn't get it to fit in the rear cabinet for a real pest.
Desparation lead me to actually look at my garage where I happily found my GMC tool (a Harbor Freight "Multi-Tool"). Realizing that this is what it excels at I took the opportunity to go to the hardware store and do some shopping for a good metal cutting blade. All the blades I had were Harbor Freight blades that were dull from opening a can of cat food, or similar.
I sheared off the bolt with ease. Then I took to the nutzert.
WOW!
I'm here to report that the GM nutzert didn't stand a chance against the GMC tool. If Bin Laden had fallen as fast we'd still have a few trillion in the treasury. Place the blade against the head of the nutzert and take it off. Cut off the head and the rest pops right out.
Friends, never drill out a nutzert. This is the easy way.
