This net is awesome.
Thank all of you folks for responding to my Gas Buddy question.
I'm going to my local Verizon store tomorrow & get it set up so
I can get on line with my phone while I'm on the road.
Thanks again.

If you are in a "major" metro area, you can go directly to

your area with www.cccccgasprices.com where "ccccc"

is the name of your city to search.

Examples I use are:

www.oklahomacitygasprices.com or

www.tulsagasprices.com

I don't know where Ajo, AZ is, but try:

www.phoenixgasprices.com or

www.tucsongasprices.com

Jim, You'll like being able to have a "portable hot spot" and have internet anywhere you have Verizon service. As you know, this is what we use and we are very happy with it.

Others use other options with the same results. I have just found the Verizon smart phone tether easy, and to work really well.

I also use a signal booster when needed (a Wilson Sleek). It has gotten me satisfactory service in some pretty remote areas.

Jade,

If you already have a smartphone, don't go to Verizon...
Look up PDAnet and/or Easytether.

Both let you use access the web and use the laptop directly.
Both are buy - Once and not a by the month fee.
You may run into data plan use issues if you are not careful (easy to do on 4G).

You can now get a pay as you go plan for the Wifi access box (I forgot the name).

Yes, this group is awesome in the true sense. I've been here a few years and I am still often amazed.

I already have Verizon & have had them for years, so will stick with them.
