We are still considering going to the Summer Solstice Rally in Granger (not Grainger) IN. Is anybody else considering it? This is just one of several excursions we are evaluating.

We crossed off going to the Birthday Rally in Centerville because we thought it was in Centerville. Well, it turns out it was in Centreville, MI. That extra 200 miles was a deal breaker for us.

One excursion made for motorcoach is one to follow the tall ships that leave Chicago and follow them up the lake until the turn at the north tip of the Door Peninsula. That would kill a week of mid-August and maybe keep us out of the Turkeyville (GL) Rally.

Matt,

Are the tall ships heading for Sydney? They are having an event where they come from all over the world that starts on October 4th.
Helen volunteers as a guide on the James Craig (steel hull barque) and she's involved somehow.

Regards,
Rob M.

Matt,

We've got, I think, 14 coaches signed up so far for the GRANGER rally. We expect another 15 - 20 to sign up over the next two weeks.

Bob and I were near Chicago visiting my cousin in 2010. We went by car
from her home in Wisconsin to the train station, took the train into
Chicago, and a taxi to the Navy Pier to see 20+ tall ships that had sailed
from all over. What an experience for us Texans who never go anywhere
unless by our car or GMC. It was a memorable day getting near the tall
ships, a ride on the giant ferris wheel after dark, plus a fireworks
display in honor of the tall ships and the nightly fireworks at the pier
following that. It was a spectacular day. Just seeing the tall ships is a
thrill. Catch them if you can.

Two cousins grew up on Buzzard's Bay in Mass,  and went to school at Tabor Academy, home of the Tabor Boy, which the students sailed.  They're very impressive, the Tall Ships.
