Despite traveling .6 miles to our town park for our 4th annual Girl Scout/Boy Scout "Building Bridges" weekend on 5/18 our first night in "Oliver" went off without a hitch, it rained and was chilly so I was glad not to be in a tent.

5/31-6/2 First campground, Pleasant Acres CG, Sussex, NJ a whopping 14 miles, mostly hills and curvy Route 23. I did side swipe an orange traffic barrel on the apex of a turn, the trip there was....HOT. The high speed fan fuse blew 5 minutes into the trip, I replaced this fuse holder because the original was melted, I put in a 20A fuse, but do not know if this is correct. I have a DC ammeter, I can check later. It was rush hour was stop and go traffic for the first 10 miles. It was 90 degrees outside and despite by reflective insulation and Dynamat, approaching 90 inside, but extremely quiet, you could easily hold a conversation.

This was first real drive since quad bag/disc upgrade and only the third time driving ever, the steering feels too neutral, after the One ton install and string alignment, it is close but (especially sweeping turns) it wanders, hence the traffic barrel incident( no damage). I also noticed the transmission seemed to linger in gear longer than expected, I do not have a tach, but took very long to shift into 2 and also 3, kick-down also did not occur as anticipated. These are first on my new to do list. We also noticed an intermittent gasoline smell, source unknown, but my gut says, original rubber lines above tank.

Nice wooded level lot, 20-30-50A service, water and sewer $56/night. http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/trip-report/p49343-first-trip.html Large pool with nice views, small man made fishing pond and beautiful natural brook. Quiet, but too many Park Model; seasonal homes for our evolving taste. Http://pleasantacres.com 8 miles south of Rt 84 (a mile from High Point State Park and Stokes Forest) Close enough to attend the Saturday Cruise night at the Chatterbox in Stephanie's 66 Mustang Conv. http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/trip-report/p49347-mustang5.html

We need some more experience packing, but we were set up and cooking within 1/2 hour of arriving, The original Zip-Dee awning took the longest...only the second time we had extended it. New a/c units performed flawlessly, and original 2 way (now one way (A/C)) kept ice frozen. We slept well, even Speckles (aussie cattle/shepherd mix) seems to enjoy camping.

Despite only a short trip and perhaps 100 miles since rebuild, I wanted to get in the habit of checking levels, good thing, Oil dipstick was dry, 2 qts to put it in range, curious, I'll have to keep my eyes on that. Drive home was short (no traffic) and a little less stressful, brakes and handling (despite higher speed steering) are awesome. Again, trying to back-up my driveway (3' rise in 30 feet, with nose a foot to 18 inches below tail when parked)need a running start otherwise no power (is there a reverse band adjustment?) perhaps 3.07 issue. http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/trip-report/p49340-first-trip.html

Overall success, Our girls are excited about the next trip.

Great report. Loved the pictures. Sweet stang. Hate your driveway. I too have a dip in mine. I hook the bug up and hit it hard. That way the hitch noise dragging only last 2 seconds. Very Happy
