Found this sitting in a yard on the edge of an Indian reserve north of Victoria. John Shotwell do you have this one in the registry? TZE337V101441

That thing has been there for more than 10 years that I know of.
I asked the owner if he wanted to sell it. Yeah, for $30,000 back then. It isn't worth $30.00.

Sir: that left front is a hubcap. A feller at the DuQuoin rally had a set on a Birch. It appears to be an early 77 so probably a 455.

from the title of the post, I thought someone on the list drove through past my house... Twisted Evil

76 Birchaven - "Wicked Mistress" - New engine, trans, alum radiator, brakes, Sully airbags, fuel lines, seats, adult beverage center... those Coachmen guys were really thinking about us second hand owners by including that beverage center... Columbia, SC.

Chuck,

The caps in that picture are the 316 SS covers made by Contour Forming in
Newark, Ohio.
I still have a set hanging on the wall in the shop. Made for 16.5 wheels.

That coach of David Stewarts is a nice looking coach. Perhaps Texas is a little kinder than the Pacific Northwest. Somewhere I found information stating that 23 foot transmodes got the 403 beginning with TZE337V101287. This may not be hard and fast so it is possible that it has a 455. Would have to cut through the moss, mold and mildew to get a closer look.

Suppose it doesn't help to tell you that my '77 Birch (TZE337V100575) has a 455.

The paint for that year is fairly tough. It is quite likely that it would the outsides would clean up fairly well. Maybe even better than my '77, as the stripes do not look in all that bad of shape. (Notice the difference between the front stripes and the rear stripes. Coachman did that in '77. Most likely they looked matched... in 1977!)

The question is: What does the insides look like?

While easy on paint and tires, the climate were it is located doesn't lend itself to keeping an interior... condensation is bad enough, but if there is ANY leak, forget about it!

Also the frame needs checked for rust. sitting over bare ground in a wet climate... Shocked

<<the climate were it is located doesn't lend itself to keeping an interior... condensation is bad enough, but if there is ANY leak>>

true dat,
but it still has air in tires and hasn't sunk to the ground or have a tree growing thru the bumper. It may not have been in that exact spot real long. My cars that have to park under trees can look that groody in a couple of weeks, junk from pecan, oak and walnut trees. But with a little soap and water it washes right off.
