Great trip to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. 320 miles each way, pulling the HHR. No mechanical problems. Have a few bad grounds that need fixing in the house electrical system, but overall it was a great trip.

This was our first real camping trip as a family of 5. The kids did real well with Annie (3.5) sleeping up top and the boys (1.5 year old twins) sleeping one on the lower couch and one in a pack and play between the driver/passenger seats. We also had hot water for the first time ever, allowing us to shower the kids in the motorhome. That was a big improvement. Kids didn't spend much of the trip in carseats, but I made a PVC baby gate for the back bed and we loaded it up with toys. That worked real well for the 7.5 hour ride home. It took almost 2 hours to get to the interstate from our campground and then we hit a few other wrecks and small jams the rest of the way. A long ride.

Using 100% real gas pumps that I found on both ends, we averaged 8.2 miles per gallon. Not bad considering the weight of the HHR although the number is a bit skewed since we didn't use the genny on the way there but we did the whole ride home.

Thanks,
