No need to pull anything but the starter, Karen. With that out of the way you can remove the three bolts that hold the sheet metal cover in place. That will open up a large inspection area that will allow you to see the flex plate and check tightness on the three attachment bolts. You can use a screw driver levering on the gear teeth on the flex plate to rotate the flex plate and torque converter as a unit.
One note of caution. If you have a combiner, be sure to disconnect the leg that goes to the chassis battery as well as the negative cable on the chassis battery. If you only disconnect the negative cable on the chassis battery and the combiner is "on", the wire going to the starter will still be hot from the house battery passing through the combiner. A short could damage you, the combiner or some other electrical component.

Thanks Terry. Got any suggestions for how I can check those?
Do I have to pull the tranny, or can they been seen/accessed
from the round hole on the tranny housing?
