Reading the current discussion on jacking, I wondered if there is a smart way of jacking with quadrabags.
Given the possibility to let out air on individual wheels?

I want to get 7 new tires for Olga. they are not worn down, but 10years old. think it would be fouliesh to risk a blow out.
I do not have much trust in the tireshops to tackle an Excotic like Olga and think the best thing would be to block her up at home and throw the wheels in the trailer.

Could i rais the rear wheels al the way up, block them and then let out the air ? avoiding jacken the rear altogether ?

Could i raise the rear wheels all the way up, block them and then let out the air ? avoiding jacking the rear altogether ?

Appie,

That was a marketing claim when the coaches were first announced. It did work - until the OE Bilgesteins (Bilstein) lost the internal gas pressure.

The greater joke (imho) is that the OE jack was not required for the rear, but it works there. Some kind of jack is required to change a front tire and the OE jack will damage a '73 or 4 if used as described in the owner's manual.

NO

Do NOT jack the rear of the coach to full height without deflating the air bags first. You can go part way up but not all the way without first depleting the air pressure in the air bags.

Come on Ken. You just jealous cuz you aint got Qbag. Very Happy
I have the bracket for the 6 ton hydraulic jack. I jack it up so it fits tight, then I let air out of bag, to about 40 pounds. Then, if I need it higher, I jack the handle.
Ain't nothing wrong with that is there?
Today I am going to air up the bags to about 120 and stick my jack stands under the rear to hold it up. Reach under and snatch the maserator off to see why it leaks.

Carry 2 blocks (2x6), one a little longer to make a small ramp.  Air up the bags with all the pressure you have, pull the good wheel up on the blocks.  Then lock that bag off with it's shut off valve and let the air out of the bag with the bad tire.  The tire will be off the ground now.  Take the tire off, you could coathanger the arm up or just be careful.  Yoou do not need a jack pulling off one tire with a quad bag syste.  We did this exact thing going to the first Dothan rally a couple of years ago.  Yes, yes, the rating of the tire is under and the bag too but there is a overspec on the bag of 3x and as long as you don;t drive too fast, too fast and not hit holes the suspension will get you out of trouble.  I know, I did it and have the pics.  Other folks saw it too and I did a talk about it at that Dothan rally the day after we did it.
