My 1973 26-foot has a PO built 4-person dinette that I want to replace with 2 swivel chairs or captains chairs and a folding or fold down table. There is a set like this on Ebay right now but the shipping from Florida to Apple Valley California (92307)was quoted at $650+ so that brings up the cost with shipping too high. Anyone near with such a setup?

Hi George, don't know if you are still looking. I have a 1978 Palm Beach with the two drivers side swivel/travel chairs. Don't have a table. I have no idea how someone could ask $650 for shipping for something like that. I ship large items FedEx Express Next Day all the time, and that is about what I pay. I would think FedEx ground would 20% of that or less. Anyway, if you are still looking, I can post some pic. - Dave

I always use Greyhound-if possible-for large items. I had the bunk bed for a coach shipped and it was about $100. Its big and heavy. They usually ship pretty quick.I also got a couple of minivan swivel seats with bases that looked alot like my flexsteel seats, at the local pull a part. That is very cheap option and those aircraft tables can be easily found. Its also my experience that if you wait long enough, someone on this site will give you what you are looking for. No one like GMC Motorhome owners.

Dave -

George is clearly first in line on this one - but I'm also considering replacing the dinette with a smaller table and some individual seats...

Could you post or send some pics ??

Thanks !

The photo site is altering the photo somewhat, the thumbnail is correct, this is out of my 73 Canyonlands...I no longer have the chairs, the table is available...make me an offer.

George, I replaced the horribly uncomfortable captains chairs with these:

About $200 each from Big Lots. Swivel, glide, recline. We didn't use the footstool. The arms fit under the fold up table and are quite comfortable. Reclines enough for a nice nap. I like recliners, wife likes rockers. The base is big and stable and they don't go anywhere when traveling.
