I'm considering replacing my ceiling liner on my 77 PB because the original
is sadly sagging. Recently someone wrote of their replacing the liner using
marine hull liner fabric applied to the existing fiberboard which mine
seems still to be in good condition. I've lost that letter to the "list"
but would like to know how it worked out. I also would like to know how the
existing plastic divider strips are fastened to the roof as well as how the
plastic strips at the walls are fastened . I don't see any screws or
fasteners. Are they easily removable and reuseable ?
I think that fabric would be an easy way to go - and economical
There's a video of it's use and installation on a boat's cabin headliner on
Youtube.
Feedback would be appreciated.

Andy,
The PO of our coach used hull liner, but not on the original backing:

Other than not using quite enough adhesive in a couple of spots (I had to do some re-gluing) it has held up very well. It makes the inside of the coach quiet and comfortable. It has a 'warm' feeling to it.

I went with 3/16 ABS plastic with a pebble finish and got rid of the entire
old headliner. Somewhere on bdub's site there are pics of how I did it as
well as how Arch did his.
The stuff is bulletproof. The divider strips pop off a metal track can be
reused.

Thanks for your sharing your solutions and details.
I'm going to get some headliner fabric samples and do a sample before
proceeding.
The GMC photo archive is very helpful.
