The handle pulled off on my elec gate once out in Ca. I am sure a few of you here recall that story. Was fun, kinda like Ken's story. I had to use a crowbar to pry it open and then use the 3 inch drain. Every "helper" in the park scattered at that point. Was kinda like the bench at Bean Station, ha. I used to never close the thing. I started noticing liquid in the pump line so I started using it. Now it is not stopping the fluid from getting by. I guess it is almost 4 years old, this particular gate.
I have an external hose that is attached to my black tank. I used to use it. Now I just open the 3 inch and shove the hose in. I like that better when I am at home. Never clean it much on the road. If I need to I can still use the attached hose.
Anyway, bottom line, I still would rather have a permantly mounted pump on the black tank.

right now i have only black water tank 3 inch gate and back bumper storage for 3 inch main plastic tube with

90 degree end to unload the tank. What is the best design for me to do?

buy one that twist on the end of the black water tank, after the gate that is see through

elbow with 2 inch hose from there?

put in maserator pump right after gate there all the time? with 2 inch hose in plastic pipe storage under carriage.

What is the best way to get rid of the crap?

Take the main stool out and have a porta-poti :-) turn black water into gray water.

Mickey, A few photos of the macerator on my 77 PB.
http://teamteets.com/gmc/macerator.html I have been quite happy with it.
The second waste gate and pipe to the rear allows me to hook up to
campground system for longer term or if the macerator should fail.

THANK YOU. yelling!

I am thinking it is possible to put in a gray water tank some where. That may even be able to have a filter to reuse the water

a little, for fire prevention with foam to mix at the end of the hose from it that will have fire foam mixed as it sprays,

i call this a red water tank. Just an idea. thank you, i first have to get my black water to where it is tolerable to

load one gallon water bottles and dump them in the dumpster. I think this is legal. ???

You can do it with one of these bad boys. But, lots of pressure. You better hang on to that one gallon jug tight.

Mickey, A few photos of the macerator on my 77 PB.
http://teamteets.com/gmc/macerator.html I have been quite happy with it.

The second waste gate and pipe to the rear allows me to hook up to campground system for longer term or if the macerator should fail.

Nice set-up. Your point of maintaining the 3 inch "stinky slinky" capability is a good one. Macerators are nice but they are not maintenance free. If someone flushes something that can not be chopped up, it is always good to have a back-up. Even a wad of to strong TP can cause issues with a macerator. (Slow pumping and popping the circuit breaker.)

OBTW: When planing a macerator install plan to be under there again... also plan out a way to flush the system with a "dead" macerator.

Even with the extra maintenance and training(*) issues, a macerator is a good upgrade. I like being able to dump where ever I can find a sewage clean out or handy bathroom, even if I can park right up next to it. When camping in my brother's back yard, I ran a hose all the way to his clean out... in the front yard! Even dumping at a "normal" dump site is improved. Very quick in and out.

The one downside to having a single waste tank (like most GMC's) is that you do not have the capability to flush the macerator hose with grey water. While the two tank set-up on my rear bath Birch does provide other issues, (small black tank and very little space) I really like the being able to flush out the "stinky" with the "soapy"... so it anything leaks out of the hose, it is "soapy."

(*)Honey you shouldn't toss that down the toilet! ... Twisted Evil

If you are planning to put the contents of your Black water tank into 1
gallon jugs and then deposit in a dumpster, you will spend the rest of

I do carry a couple of 6 gallon plastic gas jugs when we stay out in the desert, Quartzsite. I haul them to the dump in the toad. Don't have to drive the GMC 4 miles.

I heard of other persons dumping jugs in the toilet later. I use to do it with a porta-poti on a boat and you could go in anywhere

and dump it in any toilet really and it worked well i was just thinking it could be done some how without paying 10 bucks every time.

A person could use just the bottom of the porta-poti to fill and dump in a toilet.

I am very interested any anyone's experience with the most procrastinated invention on the motor home. thank you

The very valuable design to use with the motor home is the GoSpa only 10 bucks at home depot no toilet paper needed.

Gentlemen

I believe my imagination got away from me. I was thinking of gallon jugs of
...well, we know what it is...and driving around looking for a place to get
rid of them in dumpsters at apartment buildings or behind construction
sites.
I also had a vision of Dumpster Divers happening upon these mysterious
jugs....

Perhaps I should read the label more closely on my prescriptions.... <VBG>

This is the page i needed thanks gene. Lots of ideas and tricks to do.

along with the last one, i would not have thought of staying some where and

having the big pipe and not have to hook up back and forth and just leave it in a park hooked up to the big one.

thank you all for the info. I was thinking of dumpsters too, and i will end up in jail anyway.

I will say hello to OJ for you. he was trying to get his $$hit back and i was trying to get rid of it.

• A good way to get rid of black water. Use your macerator to pump it into old milk-type jugs. Pack
them in a box. Gift wrap the box and leave it in the back of your pick-up at a mall. Someone will steal
it. (Works for garbage too.)
• (I shouldn't put this in here, but I can't resist it) There's an old RVer joke: If you're ever faced with an
insurmountable poop problem, consider getting an "Airstream" -- because, as any Airstream owner
will tell you, "their shit don't stink."
