I have found my water leak It is the connection in the main line to the toilet .

While I have everything apart in the back I am going to fix the drain system back behind the water tank so that it works. The valve in the back to drain is frozen. I am think if make a drain for the main system and the water tank out under the propane tank. Is there a good water to do that or a better way to fix the drain system?

There are several ways to put in a new drain or fix your old ones. Gene Fisher's site has a good example of someone fixing the old ones and then connecting them to a rod that comes out into the propane compartment so you can open and shut them from there. I just plumbed a line from the white water tank through the wall to the propane compartment and put a faucet out there.

I disconnected the old rusted shut outlets inside so my only drain is now in the propane compartment. Either way will work. I chose my way so I didn't have to deal with the old drains and now all the plumbing for the drain is in the propane area and easy to get to. However, my system will not drain between the tank and the pump except for what gravity sucks back into the tank or what comes after the pump.

I believe the original plumbing had 2 drains so that it drained both before and after the pump. Not a big deal for me since we don't get those heavy freezes in AL and I use pink stuff for winterizing after the tank but before the pump. My area of risk is pretty small with what doesn't drain back into the tank from before the pump or get pinked.

Years ago I replaced that drain with a short lever ball valve. I connected a short pull push rod to it and the rod come out in the propane compartment. A good thing to use for the push rod is an old car antenna. I pay $1.00 each for them at the junk yard and they are stainless steel.

I have a second 2 way ball valve also mounted there. One way the water pump gets it's water from the tank and in the other position the pump gets it's input from a small hose that I ran up front and stick into a RV anti-freeze bottle. That second valve is also on a push rod to the propane compartment.
