8 years ago, I put on 6 new 16 inch steel wheels with 245 75 R 16 tires. With Wheel Master SS covers. The steel wheels fit a 73 Chivy 1 ton with duels. I made three mistakes at that time. 1 Never should have put 245 tires on. That size of tire was way to close to the body of the coach. 2 This tire size reduced my revs per mile. Thus taking away part of the advantages of putting the 3.70 final drive in, to start with. 3 Too aggressive of a tread. Thus lots of road noise.
Today I found two tires that claim to be quiet running. The tires are 225 75 R 16's. Load range E Both made in the USA. This USA thing is vary important to ME.1 E Dunlop Rover H/T BSL TL $162.252 Kelly Safari ATR BW E $176.00I bought 12 new rims from Jim K. today. So the 12 tires, and rims are going on both the 78 Royale's.Also got two sets of Quad bags to do both coaches.Bob Dunahugh
