I feel installing a
crossover" tube from the drain plugs is a good idea-- that is if you can get the drain plugs out!  I would say it's a 50/50 proposition, good luck.

I still feel though that having a pickup in each tank is also needed.  If 1 sock clogs, gets a hole in the tub, etc. having a 2nd pick up is a good thing.  Also, by installing a backup electric fuel pump on the aux. tank pickup, you have a "homerun" line from the rear tank to the mechanical fuel pump and then with a press of the "main/aux." fuel switch on the dash, you have an electric fuel pump in circuit to help with startup, vapor lock, etc.

Yea, I know, I know, there can always be a problem with running the 2nd pump but hey, life is a chance and the good things you get by doing this far outweigh any problems-- my opinion.

It's a 1/4" pipe threar fitting (the drain), we run a 3/8" steel line with a flare fitting on a 90 deg. fitting coming out of the drain tight to the bottom of the tank.  "S" curve the line so there are no kinks.  Works well,  call if you have any questions,

propitious design reply, thank you, I did not know there is a drain plug, should i use a blow torch to loosen the drain plug? joke.

I just saw the redford movie i liked it. I thought vapor lock was when the bong got clogged. The s curve is needed to stop kinks?

I am not sure i understand why that is but i will try and do it. If it gets hit with a rock it could start a leak but better than running

out of gas in the hills. Is there a guard for it? I have to order something from JimB, can i order this tube from you?

IT would be good to have a valve to turn off the sharing tube to drain one tank at a time if you wanted?

This sharing tube is one of those JimB secrets - great trick thank you so much. respect~!

I am interested in ordering something to give JimB money for something. I just do not know how to do it as yet, easy..

Jim, how do i order from YOU? Thank you best regards

Mickey :-)

When you try to take out the drain plug with a hex or Allen wrench it might strip. If so, use a pipe wrench on the outside of the threads It should come bout that way.

This may be a question answered in a prior thread, but can the stock inline aux fuel switch easily tolerate the pressure from a fuel injection pump placed in advance of the switch, either in the tank or out?
