Ignition switch troubles [message #207016]

I have taken the steering wheel off and got it broke down to the point where you put it in run position and put the screw driver and press the tab up. My issues is I press the tab up and pull on the key and it will not move! Any suggestions as the tab I can press up but can not get the switch out.
