Finally, We got all the ducks lined up nicely...

The Miller Family of Hamilton (about halfway between Dayton and Cincinnati) and Eastern States are hosting a work rally. This is a no badge, no fee rally (we hope you will contribute to cover the food cost).

Start at:
http://www.gmceast.com/rallies/

Register at:
http://www.gmceast.com/rallies/rallies/rally-reg-1306.php

You do not have to be an Eastern States member.
You don't actually have to be a member of anything, but if you are going to work on it, it has to be a TZE coach.

I'm planning to be there. I'm actually hoping that I can't find anything I want to do on my coach those days.

If you want/need full hookup, that's not happening.

Matt - 225 miles north

I'm not sure what rally you're talking about, Gene. If Hamilton, no; I
have to have Dennis at SFO on 4 June for his flight back to ATL. If any
other while I'm in its vicinity, certainly.

BUT, there won't be any full wiper kits. Too much stuff to haul already,
plus the fact that my harness inventory is depleted and I haven't had time
to build any. I MIGHT be able to bring along a couple of hardware-only
kits. :-( Anything else, I'm up for.

Ok, I'm not Gene, but it's the western states/49ers rally in
Coos Bay, October 2-7:
http://gmcws.org/blog/?p=965

Looks like a fun one. We're hoping to make it.
I'm also hoping we'll get to have a Treasure Island
rally right after it, but that may be just a hope.

Nope, we'll be long gone from you part of the country by then. We'll be in
Branson, MO by 20 September for the GMCMI Fall Convention, then on home.

Don't y'all get together during the summer?

Ken,

Glad to hear you plan to make Branson. I would not have guessed that you would come so far north as our work rally.

Matt - Just finished washing WV off the coach.

I am planning to be there to have my Boyd updated steering column installed and to finally install the Henderson electric wiper system that I bought about 5 years ago.

I've only been there once before but my son Jim & I had a great time. It's not all work - there is plenty of time to drink the beer that you brought.

Bill,

If you are planning to drink the beer that I brought, you may have a problem....
It isn't beer and it will support combustion - easily.

Matt - will need to reprovision for Hamilton

Oh, I might have ventured up there during JUNE. The memories of my 4 years
in Purgatory (Dayton) have faded slightly.

Speaking of which, an old man's reminiscences: I received my MSEE in Jun
74, under the auspices ($$$) of Air Force Communications Command. Having
never had any interest in ham radio nor any other facet of communications,
I pulled strings to get a higher priority assignment -- USAF Foreign
Technology Division (FTD) at WPAFB, Dayton.

When I reported to my old commander from Hawaii (Chief of Staff at FTD) ,
he said "You don't want to work in this place...go find yourself a job
where you'll get credit for what you do." I wound up with the System
Program Director for Remotely Piloted Vehicles, at the time a high profile
project which I'd been reading about. Without even reviewing my records,
he pointed at my pilot's wings and said, "I need those...". (Then current
impression was that all pilots opposed RPV's (now called UAV's)). I should
have known then that I was entering Purgatory. :-(

Paul,

We have 16~18 people signed up with work to do.

We have to contact some this next week to be sure that each knows what he is getting into and is prepared to make it happen.

But, other than that, it looks real good.

I plan to be there with no work to do on my own coach.

If anyone needs anything (trailer hitches, wind wings, radiator guards, etc.) from Blaine Merrell, I could stop by on the way and pick them up to save the shipping.

I know Blaine just finished a new batch of hitches. He keeps telling me he is not going to make any more and then goes and makes another batch any way.

I'm not selling anything so you need to talk to Blaine on prices and payment. I'll transport them if there are enough orders for me to go the 40 or 50 miles out of the way to go by there.

Installing a new hitch would be a great project on the pit at the work rally.

Ken -

That is great news, because it means that you are feeling okay. Are you
arriving on Friday in time for dinner? You said earlier that you were
bringing your truck scales and I have told several owners about that.

Installing a hitch would be a good project, I will see if anyone wants one.
I hope it is easier than the one I put on Bill Brinkdopke's coach, I had to
cut off the old hitch that was welded onto the frame.

Bring your meter collection, I would like to check out my coach for
wiring/grounds/etc.

Bob
