Now all you will need is a big long extension cord.

Do not forget to park near the light poles at Walmart so you can recharge while you are inside shopping.

I just looked and the closest Honda EV dealer for me is 694 miles away in New York.

I'm interested it how you like this car after a few hundred miles. If sounds neat.

Do not let Dan know about it. He will be wanting one instead of his Prius. After he gets one, he will be figuring out how to charge it off of his coach solar system.

Congratulations

Just for information, A Honda EV 4010 is a RV generator of slightly less power than the Honda EV 6010. Same physical size though.

Congradulations on your good find. Honda ev4010 and ev6010 are not exactly the same physical size, but very close. Engine is identical. Ev4010 is slightly taller, according to my copy of the Honda shop manual. I wonder why Honda actually ended up with a slight size difference in the generator side of the pair.
Honda also publishes a different footprint pattern for each. The cooling air exhaust ports are different.
Honda made at least three different exhaust system designs for the pair. John Sharpe's installation photos show the most common one, a folded style. It has both input and output on one side of the muffler. Another design has these fittings on either end of the muffler. The third design is to be used beside the engine instead of underneath.
Either one will easily fit in the generator compartment of the 26' GMC.
I watch for them on Craig's List, eBay pricing is higher.
Again, a great score.

This is a bottom exit, craigslist find. The guy had it very cleverly mounted under his 5er on an angle iron frame. I plan to do the same under my TT, but penetrate up under the rear dinette with a housing and a genny compartment door on the back. It was less than a grand!

On the size difference, it is funny why they even made the 4010. The 6010 only weighs about 16 lbs more. They use the same engine, I thought they were identical size. This is the newest model made. you can tell by the starter.

They run pretty fast, and are not the quietest units, but then I have not heard one that is installed in an enclosure. I'm sure that makes all the difference in the world.

Ken, Yep. You blew that one!!! Laughing

I had visions of you buying one and attaching it to the rear of your coach. Then you would run the Honda off of the roof mounted solar panels on the coach and push the coach down the road with your new Honda.

I'm really disappointed that it was only a generator.

Ken, Honda makes, or made, good generators. They are behind on the hybrid vehicles, in my opinion, even though they have been in it a long time. Toyota has the market now with Ford coming on strong. I did study up on these rigs before I purchased. The new "C" really suits Teri and me.

I actually like the Prius or C. If I was rolling in money I would go get one too. I have a friend with a Honda Hybrid. He hates it.
