I have a 77 403, and am hooking up new gauges. Right now, it seems I will have to run oil pressure, oil temp, and the oil pressure shut off switch for my aux fuel pump from the single port on the top front left of the block.
Is there any other source that I could install some of these sensors?
Seems like a lot for that one port, plus with all the plumbing, it looks prone to leak. Thanks.

Green,
I don't know the 403 well enough to tell you what is a good idea, but I know engines well enough to tell you that building a "christmas tree" of fittings is a bad idea. As the engine has an adapter for the remote oil cooler, that would be a prime location to add a hole or two for additional sensor ports.

Oil filter adapter can be tapped tp install an oil temp sensor. Photos on web site.

I have thought of running a short 12" or so piece of steel braided line from the port to a T that is clamped to one of the intake bolts for adding sensors when I go to an electric fuel pump. (Hopefully later this summer!) It wouldn't work for the temperature sensor, which needs to see fluid running by it, so the oil cooler adapter would be best for that. My understanding is that having several sensors hanging from a little 1/8" pipe creates the potential for it to break from vibration and such.

I have had the 1/8" common bronze pipe develop a crack with just one sensor on it. I found McMaster-Carr has steel pipe and fittings and use them now w/no problems seen.
