My coach has a large vent in the middle of the dash on the floor. On the max/ Rec AC setting it really blows a lot of air from it. I've see pictures of a vent that split this vent in two. The one big vent is really not blowing in the right direction, but it does blow cold. Is this an after market thing or was it a stock item. Either way I'm looking for one. If anybody knows a source, that would be great!

Daryn,
The vent that comes out on the floor level is the heat vent. It should NOT be blowing cold air when in AC Max. All AC air should be coming out the Dash vents across your dash. The PO may have modified the air path to increase air flow. The 1975 dash air was marginal at best. There are a number of modification to improve the cold air flow. The best AC units were in the 77 & 78 which was the type II.

Thanks for the info. I do think there were some modifications. The air works very well. It really blasts out of that vent. I found a picture of the vent I'm looking for . This is a link for a coach that is for sale. If you zoom in on the dash in the fifth picture, it's the bottom two vents that connect in the center of the floor. It looks like its something that could be found somewhere. Almost like aftermarket.

Daryn,
At some time during '75, and for all '76 models, the "Max Air Duct" below
the dash does exactly as you describe: When the leftmost position on the
lower control lever is selected, ALL of the conditioned air flows directly
into the cockpit with the blower locked in HI speed. There should be a
plastic duct accepting that output and directing it through directable
louvers; your is obviously missing. The left half of that duct can be seen
in this photo (sorry I couldn't find a better one):

I'll try to look tomorrow -- I may still have the duct I removed when I
built my new dash.
There are significant changes you can make to improve the performance of
that A/C version: It originally used ONLY outside air; you can convert it
to use all inside air. The blower speed can very simply be made variable,
even in the Max Air position.

Thanks Ken,
It works as you discribed. It would be great to vary the blower speed. I did see something on how to convert it to use inside air. That seems like a really good idea.
