So last fall I posted on here about blowing the tanks out of my radiator and overheating, and was afraid I did some real damage. I had the radiator repaired and put it back in and did a few in the driveway runs. Well the weather has finally improved here, so the last couple weeks I've taken it out on a few runs, the longest was 150 miles round trip.

Tonight, we drove 25 miles one way for dinner. Made it back, too. Of course, I'm always more nervous when my wife and kids are with me, just because I don't want to hear all about it if something happens. So far so good. Seems to run as good as before the overheat.

I'm ready to take it on some short overnight trips (100-200 miles), which is what we do normally anyway; don't know when I'd be ready for a long haul. And with gas prices, I don't know how many more test drives I can afford before I call it good. Smile

Anyway, it feels good able to think about working on the optional upgrade list vs. planning an engine rebuild.

A couple full throttle tests within walking distance of home always puts my mind at ease. Beats broke in the middle of nowhere.

Great Galen. Thanks for letting us know. I am sure many of us feel at ease after 50 miles or so. Most of our trips are long distances so I am like John, hit it hard a couple of times leaving town. If she holds I figure we are good to go.
Keep it rolling. Sitting is hard on the old gals.

When folks in the neighborhood stop by and ask why I'm always working on the motothome in my driveway, I tell the, "It's much better here than on the side of the road!"

Great job. I always have concerns but keeping at it is sometimes fun and sometimes PITA.
My wife calls my coach my mistress, because I'm always working on her. Cheaper than the other type.

In the camper world, you never "break down," you just find new places to camp...

76 Birchaven - "Wicked Mistress" - New engine, trans, alum radiator, brakes, Sully airbags, fuel lines, seats, adult beverage center... those Coachmen guys were really thinking about us second hand owners by including that beverage center... Columbia, SC.

Good one. I must remember that.
As Tom says, our wive's always know where we are. They never have to worry about us chasing other girls. We have one in the driveway.
Life is good.

My PO's wife said it was his mistress because he was always on her, in her or under her.
