G'day,

I left the roof vent open in Double Trouble and my Acer notebook got
soaked and fried.

Bdub has set me up as on vacation until I can get this sorted.

I'm using John Sharpe's PC to send this message.

Please do not send me any joke emails or ones that require a response
until further notice.

Please don't suggest work arounds.

Bottom line, unless it's a matter of life and death don't send me
ANYTHING until further notice!!!!!

Rob M.

Bummer.

Unless 'fried' translates to 'charred' pack it in a couple of pounds of dried rice for 48 hours.

I had the same thing happen. Eventually it dried out and ran again. The screen had wet spots in it for months but eventually went away.

Dried rice is a cheap, safe, readily-available bulk desiccant. Ask any teenager how to salvage a phone that went for a swim and they'll tell you 'dried rice.' Don't ask me how I know this.

Try it, Rob. I was able to save my laptop after spilling a glass if wine
right in the middle of my keyboard. Good luck! Sandra

G'day,

I'm baaaacccckkkkk!

Local shop charged me $$29.00 for the keyboard and $39.00 labor. Quite reasonable considering Best Buy didn't even want to know me.

Hooray for small businesses!

And John Sharpe!

Regards,
Rob M.

Now, go out and get a USB Back-up drive, copy all your pictures and important stuff. This was a close call.

Sean,

Already have one and it had all the data on it as of when I left Australia. I was lazy and didn't hook it up

Better yet I went out and bought another Acer Aspire One D250 and will have the hard drive ghosted so that it matches the one in the
Acer I have now.

I will sync them to each other daily.

Regards,
Rob M.
