Flushing A/C Compressor [message #203346]

All,

I am looking for suggestions on the best way to flush out the mineral base oil from the A/C compressor. I am going to re-install the original compressor and since my system already has the synthetic oil for R134a I need to flush out the mineral base oil from the compressor.

Any suggestions?

You'll get an ear-full here about using R134a. It's not as efficient, and more toxic than R12-A (Duracool) the propane\butane refrigerant. Just warning ya...

Larry,

I'm not using R134a. I am using Duracool with the synthetic oil that is used with R134a refrigerant. I chose this oil just in case I had to use R134a in the future.

We also run Duracool in our 74 GMC.
The R134a ate up our A/C in my 85 El Camino.
That's one of my spring project replacing all the components on the El
Camino.
Bought all the goodies from Rockauto.
Including a flushing kit.
All is well with my Lord
