My wife and me had a great time had Dothan. When you meet someone they aren't strangers for very long.
Quick question, do the lower ball joints wear out before the tops and does anyone know of a way to check them other than the suggested "rocking" of tire from top and bottom, don't mind buying parts if it will help with inconsistent steering and a one time clunk I get each time I turn hard in reverse. I also know I need lower control arm bushings. Tops replace a year ago.
Thanks for the good times and info at Dothan.

Skip,
The top ball joints very rarely where out as they are not under much load. The lower can be another story. Are yours held in by rivets? If so they could be original. You need to take the tire off and use a pry bar and see how tight the lower ball joint is. Any more than a little vertical movement is too much. They are not hard to change.

Tried checking the left lower ball joint for slop and only slop I found was in my "unrebuildable" GOLBY relay arm. Mr Lenzi a few months ago was kind enough to talk me through getting rid of a lot of the up and down play at the pivot point, but I just discovered about an 1/8 inch up and down play in the joint that hooks to the intermediate arm. Didn't find it till I left the right side on ground with pressure so it couldn't move. Also had more lateral slop in the pivot point, which translates to rocking and popping, than I originally thought.
Any Ideals what to do with my unfixable arm. The vendors want rebuildable cores, which I can't blame them, Anybody got an untouched arm off a parts coach they would part with and I could use as a core.
Thanks

Skip,
Don't stop there. Examine your lower ball joints like John recommended.
If they are rivited on, they are most likely worn out and that means that
your bushings are probably original too. If so, they are junk.
