I have a set....

I had a neighbor who moved a few years ago and gave me a bunch of these 'assortment' boxes. Orings, spring pins, Speedometer gears, a whole bunch of stuff. I expect it's all offshore made and the orings are very likely Chinese made. No reason that they should not work fine however. Next time I'm at HF, I'll look and see if they have any better fits for that fat inside ring.

Only four Ken. Two small ones, on the small shaft, one medium one in the groove on the slider, and a FAT one that fits on the small shaft and actually does the seal when you pull the diverter.
I looked at this think for quite a while before I figured out how it worked.

As I understand it, the two small O rings and the outside (closest to the knob) O ring just keep the unit sealed from drips. The inside O Ring is the one that does the diverting work.
The outer sleeve is stationary and held in place by the screw on the outside of the snout. It fits in a the bore of the spout and cannot move. There is an inner and outer bore. You can see the outer bore in the photo but the inner did not show up. The inner bore is what the small end of the assembly fits in and it goes to the shower. Under normal operation, the inner shaft is pushed inward and water flows around the small shaft, around the smaller radius in the center, and through two 3/16" holes in the outer sleeve, and into a cavity in the snout that leads to the water nozzle. At the same time, the passage to the shower is closed by the shaft an
In diverter mode, the knob and inner shaft are pulled out and the larger inside O ring (which can be seen in the first photo inside the bore of the snout) seals between the tapered end of the sleeve and the flange of the inner shaft. This seals off any water flowing into the sink. As the knob is pulled out, the inner shaft comes out of the inside bore and water is forced through it to the shower.
I still have the original 'telephone handset' shower head and it works fine. With it shut off and the diverter diverting (knob pulled out) there are absolutely NO leaks or drips from either the shower head or the faucet.
Does this help? If you take your diverter out and look up inside the faucet it will probably make more sense. I'll try and get a better photo that shows the inner and outer bores.
This is the O-Ring assortment I have:

8 bucks from Horror Freight or probably anywhere that sells cheap import tools and assorted Chinese stuff. While the inside O ring is not the exact one needed, it seems to work fine.

For reassembing on o-rings, faucet stems, etc. and greasing threads that are in contact with potable water stop by an old-time pharmacist and see if he has some lanolin. Won't harm rubber or plastic.

I had to put the small end in a vice and grab the knob with large channel locks to break the threads loose. It left a mark or two on the knob but nothing really objectionable.

I did not make it out to my coach today. I'll try to get to it before next Monday. Also I have no water in the coach so I will not be able to test it. I am working on the water tank so I thought I would just replace the o-rings again making sure I get all 4 of them. Then I'll test it after I finished fixing the tank. It is gonna be a while.
