Went to fire up the old girl today to shake some of the dust off her and everything started up great. Went to back it out and the brake pedal went clear to the floor. We just took it out for a spin around the block about 2 months ago and didn't have any issues. Opened up the Master Cylinder and the back side was almost completely empty. No leaks underneath the coach. Just checked all the terminations and don't see any leaks.

I'm a noob so maybe there's something obvious I am missing here. The coach is parked on concrete and there are no leaks under any of the brake lines. What am I looking at here?

With that much fluid missing, it HAS to be a significant leak. Probably the easiest way to find it would be to refill the rear reservoir, start 'er up and pump the brakes until you have a soft pedal again (indicating all the fluid leaked out again). It could be that the leak is slow enough that you had just a tiny bit of fluid left in the rear reservoir when you parked it, and that pumping the brakes won't pump it out at the leak TOO fast, but I'll bet it'll show up if you spend some quality time with your brake pedal. Just put on some foot tappin' music and have at it...

Then, fix the leak, bleed the brakes and return to your regularly scheduled plans for the weekend.

Has to be à leak somewhere. The back part of the master is for the front brakes. As Mark said, fill it up and pump it out...you will find it. Tell us where it is...

Fill up the master cylinder and get someone to push on the pedal a few
times as you watch underneath...you'll see a puddle guaranteed.

I looked up Amissville and can't find it...I'm in Wytheville and heading
north on the 81 ...

We're about 40 miles east of 81.  Between Shenandoah NP and Warrenton, VA.

Everything is stock.  The rear reservoir is empty so I assume that is the rear brakes.

Jared, Nope, the back is for the front disc brakes. Also feeds the
combination valve in the drivers side wheel well. If you cannot find a
fluid leak, then your master cylinder has failed between the front and rear
piston cups. Replacement time is at hand.

Sounds like fun.  How hard is it to do if that's the case?

I have seen car master cylinders leak back into the booster. Can that happen with the GMC? If it does, do you have to change the booster too?

Brake fluid does not do the Booster any favors. If the leakage is severe,
replace the Booster also. There are two studs and nuts that hold the master
cylinder in place. Some of the brace brackets
also must be removed. Two brake lines, and you can wiggle it out. Bench
bleed it like the instructions tell you to, and flush the entire brake
system, bleed it completely and you are good to go.

most the time it is a back exspander that leaks into the shoes. WHen this happens take the wheel off, soak up the fluid put in an new

expander and sand the brake shoes out dry before putting it back in. that has happened to me with my dodge vans before.

Other wise look for leaks at the front down the fire wall, or on the rims of the inside of the wheels it has to go somewhere.

a brake hose would mean really dangerous. this is very important stuff, stopping.

make sure you did not put steering fluid in the brake tub, that eats out all the hoses.

When mine did that, it was due to pad wear.  Filling the master cylinder and then bleeding the brakes with a bleeder pump healed it.  I now check the fluid level religiously.  I got a suction bleeder fro Advance for less than $30.  If you put some grease in the fitting that slips over the bleed screw, it works great.
