Hi All,

I have been able to combine orders enough to do another production run of these six wheel alignment kits designed specifically for our GMC motorhomes. For those of you who are not familiar with these kits, there is a full explanation and instructions on the GMC page on my web site http://jerrywork.com. They allow you to quickly check ride height, steering box centering, frame parallelism on all six wheels, camber on all six wheels, caster and toe on the two front wheels. You can do all these checks anywhere there is a roughly level parking area yourself in less than 30 minutes. And, you will be as accurate if not more accurate than most commercial alignment shops. Full instructions are included in the package.

I also completed a redesign of the alignment kits to make them more robust, self calibrating, easier to assemble and less expensive to ship. That means they are also more easily shared between multiple GMC owners. I combined the two gun sight lasers and separate digital angle finder into a single unit that is carried in stock at most Sears stores for $50 or less (Sears item number 00948292000). As a result of this redesign, I have been able to reduce the price from $400 to $350 if I supply the laser/angle finder or $300 if you buy that yourself locally. Flat rate shipping is $50 for addresses east of the Mississippi River, $40 for addresses west of the River and $30 for addresses in Washington, Oregon and California. Shipping to Canada or elsewhere in the world will be the actual shipping charge.

I choose the two gun sight lasers and separate digital angle finder for the initial design because the digital angle finder I used tested to be the most accurate out of all the ones I could find on the commercial market. The dots on the gun sight lasers were also smaller than on any of the torpedo laser levels I tested. Customer feedback since has suggested that the additional level of accuracy and the smaller laser dot size over this all-in-one unit are not all that critical in the real world and the all-in-one unit has the advantage of not needing the separate calibration step required for the gun sight lasers if the stand-off arms are accidently dropped or banged. This redesigned system is made of the same rectangular steel tube and precision ground stand off pins used in the original design and offers the same real world accuracy and same ease of use.

I have a few units still available from this latest production run if you want one. Paypal to glwork@mac.com or send a check to Jerry Work, PO Box 3195, Kerby, Oregon 97531.

Because proper ride height and proper alignment are so critical to enjoying driving your GMC, it is my hope that one of these kits will be available at every GMC club event so the attendees can do their own checking right at the event. At a recent GMC Western States function we measured just ride height for every coach as they arrived. All but a couple were off (almost always low in front) as they drove into the event. That means the alignment was also likely off for all those coaches as well.

Your coach drove straight and true when new, and it can again without road wander or rut follow if you get the tire air pressure, ride height and alignment properly set.
