'Netters,

I am quite proud to announce that the "Internet Idiot's Guide for GMC
MotorHome Information" is now available on Apple's iBookstore. With Gary
Bovee's support and encouragement I reformatted the layout to comply with
the ePub guidelines and submitted it for distribution. In addition to the
information contained in the previous edition, Gary has inserted a chapter
regarding the 455 and 403 engine featuring Dr. Oldsmobile himself, Joe
Mondello.

With the publication going into this format, The Guide, as we call it, is
available for use on the Apple iPad. All of the embedded links are
clickable. The table of contents, available by touching in the upper left
of the screen, is also fully clickable to take you directly from one
chapter to another. A feature I deployed was indexing the list of vendors
and suppliers as well as the list of GMC clubs.

This is another effort at getting a great publication into the hands of
future owners and enthusiasts which will enable the GMC to live on several
more years. By having access via a contemporary tool I am confident this
will be of benefit to several people.

You may view the tome on the iBookstore at the following URL.
1>

My next project will be getting some of Rob Mueller's well-written guides
into this format as well as some other great documents that will fit this
format well.

By the way, after I return from Dothan and have my taxes completed, the
PDF version residing in the cloud at GMC Eastern States will be revised to
include the chapter on the Olds engine with Joe Mondello.

What about a Kindle (or similar) version for those of us
that are not encumbered by the devices manufactured by the
Cupertino Fruit Factory?

Thanks for doing this! I find more and more reasons to simply use my iPad and less reason to lug around my laptop. I remain in awe of folks that have the abilities to do these projects in this Internet age!

Byron, Amazon just released a send-to-kindle feature that can be added to
any html page. If you can format the manual as a single HTML document, I
can help you with the javascript/html to allow anyone to send it to their
device as an ebook. I have some prototypes that you could copy from.
Let me know.

and.... let me publicly apologize here, as I apparently got
Byron to thinking that I was criticizing his work, which
was never my intention, I just made a smart a$$ comment
letting my PERSONAL feelings about a certain platform show a
little too much. I HIGHLY respect the work that Byron does,
and had no intention to be critical of hos work.

I would love to see what Byron and Gary have produced, ....but so far have been  unable to download the correct programs to do so. I do have Kindle Fire. Any thoughts?
