Hi all. I'm in the process of replacing the carpet in my coach. To do it right I need to remove the OEM captain's chairs at the swivel point. It looks like it's a single bolt that goes through the pedestal to the floor. Could it be that simple? I don't want to be surprised when I loosen the nut an try pulling the seat off, only to find there's some sort of spring loaded mechanism or something like that!

I can work around the removal if I have to, but if it's as simple as it looks, I'd rather do it right.

It's been a while since I've had mine off, but there are definitely no springs or anything to worry about. I want to say it was either a 1/2 or 9/16 wrench, on a bolt with a big washer on it. I don't quite remember how the latch that stops rotation entered into it. Might have to pull the lever, or turn it to a spot that isn't forward. And, the seat and attachments is probably heavier than you might think. The tube you are pulling it out of seems a lot longer than it looks, while your holding 50 lbs. or so of seat.

Hi there from a warming up and getting hotter New Mexico
I just did the same thing with my new coach. The drivers and the
passenger seats are in three parts and very heavy.
Be careful with the heavy part. The bases are held to the floor with
about eight or so bolts. Some of these are a real challenge and we had
to remove the wheel liner. After all the bolts and nuts are removed
they lift right up. With the seat and all the mechanisms they weight
about 85-100 lbs. Not a big deal but watch yourself with the weight factor.
