Learned my lesson last year. Pulled into the parking lot at 1 am for Shawnee convention. Had to pay for the whole stinking nite. Not this time.
Great ride through the hills of Alabama. Weather was perfect for a GMC day.
See yall in the morning.
Dan

For the hams, and others, check the APRS tracking system to see our route today. You can see the Walmart we are in now. We left home at 1 pm. Our GMC call is WD0AFQ on the tracker.

Thanks Ken,

Pretty fun to track in "street view" -- you can see the Walmart sign in the background.

I'm hoping to be at the same Walmart Friday night. Will stroll through the gates Saturday a.m. in time to set up and hit the first tech session. Can't wait. What a long week of work this is turning out to be!

Yes if you zoom in closely you can see Dan walking down the ice cream isle. Is that Ken H. following him?

Dan,

We were about six hours early at Shawnee, so we hold up in the Walmart lot until morning.
I think.... If you aren't there early enough for the ice cream, you should not have to pay for the night. We got stung like that at Goshen. I figured that after midnight was the next day.

In about forty minutes, we will be turning north of I-10. See you about 1630.

Matt - getting ready for the last tack.
