Does anyone have a diagram of how the dash AC air flows from the blower motor to the outlets and is there an easy way to access the ductwork so I can block off the air to the side panels?

Randy,

In the part manual it is in section 26, page 26-12.
On my 73, if you open the drivers side hood and look behind the wiper motor you will see the flexible duct that goes to the side air outlet. You could pull the hose and cap the outlet. On page 26-12 it would mean removing clamp 24.
As for the passenger side outlet -- I have not had that panel off yet and the diagram is not clear.

And why would one want to do that?

John

Are you asking me? in response to Randy's question about how to block the air flow from the side vents on a 73.

On my 73, the air flow is through a flexible duct for about five feet -- terrible flow.
The next version -- as I read the diagram at least incorporated a smooth elbow to improve the flow.
Maybe Randy is thinking if he blocks the side vent it will push more air out the dash.

Dennis

Yes, I would rather have a little stronger flow out the front vents than mediocre flow out of all of them.
