I have seen post related to lowering steering column.
Under my column I see , I think it was 2 or 4 bolts that support upper part of column. If I remove these bolts, and replace with longer bolts and spacers, does that work to slightly lower column, or will something end up in a bind? Otherwise am I asking for trouble?
Thanks

That is how most people have lowered their steering column. I don't remember how far you can drop it, believe it to be about 1" to 1 1/2" inches. Some one reported that their coach had a steering column drop, with square tubing providing a firm support, rather than stacking individual spacers on longer bolts.

I lowered the steering wheel about an inch by putting in stacks of flat washers and longer carriage bolts. Put 4 washers on the front, 5 in the back because of the angle change.
Also lowerd another 3/4" by placing a splint on the outside of the colunm.

If you use 1" square tubing it will lower the steering column 1". Thats what I did on our first coach.

hi Jon -

I believe if you lower the column 1" at the mount bracket you will lower the steering wheel about 2" because of the fulcrum effect.
