It is time to install my vacuum gauge, 2 inch gauge centerd above present gauges. I wonder how hard it is to remove steering wheel to get it out of the way so hole can be drilled. All input is appreciated.
Thanks

It is a 5 minute job with a steering wheel puller. Remove one clip and one nut. Then attach the puller and it will come right off. AutoZone has the puller in their free tool loaner program.

Sir: unhook the horns. when you remove the nut look and make sure the steering wheel mark is aligned with the mark on the shaft.

Be sure to remove the steering wheel slowly and carefully. You will find that the horn wire snaps into a small clip which is easily broken. You can guess how I learned this.

I removed my horn cover to see behind it, wire from horn button appeared to have the spring just pushed into the hole in wheel,I always thought my horn had an issue since it seemed to go off without hardly any pressure. I dont have wheel off since I need to borrow a puller for that. Does anyone have a picture of the clip that is suppose to hold horn wire? I am leaning towards getting a bit extender for drilling instead of worrying about wheel, but since horm is off at this point i might as well put it back on correctly.
Thansk to all for the input.
Brian
