We have two folding Brompton bikes. These are the most compact of the folding bikes and are hand made in England. Each fits neatly into a zippered bag to keep them clean, yet quickly accessible. They sit on top of the rear bumper and are held to the rear of the coach via velcro straps affixed to the back of the coach. Velcro strips sewn onto the zippered bags makes it fast and easy. A hole with a brass grommet allows a cable lock to pass through the bags, through the bike frame and lock onto the spare tire carrier. These bags are part of the system I designed to eliminate the ladder and pod by being able to hold these two bikes, two folding chairs, a folding table and a large ss BBQ on the rear of the coach with nothing sticking out further than the spare tire and everything below the rear window. Works like a charm, but the Brompton bikes are at the upper price end of all the folding bikes in the world so would not fit all budgets. They do ride very well indeed and h
ave displaced all our traditional bikes at home, too. A small propane fire ring rides under one of the dinette seats and is powered, as is the BBQ, off of the coach propane tank.
