This isn't exactly a 3rd brake light but I think it's better - it provides a triple function.
I mounted a 60" WIDE LED light bar purchased from Auto zone and sold for the purpose of being mounted under the tailgate of a pickup truck only I mounted it on the INSIDE of the rear window at the top of the glass . had to make a bracket out of 1/2" aluminum angle (pop riveted two 60" angles together) - (think the number 7 and then a capital L fastened together) and used double sided tape to glue it to the inside of the glass. (very inexpensive)The light bar has a peel and stick surface on the backside.
Tapped into the wires at the LT tail lamp and of course ran the wires behind the inside plastic trim panel that surrounds the window.
The light blinks right or left with the turn signals even with brake lights and/or park lights on. Brake light will be steady on the non-blinking side or lit from one end to the other when brakeing only. (this is the way its's designed to work)
Will try to upload pics if anyone wants.

Apply double sided tape to surface #1.
Apply self stick 60" LED lamp to surface #2.
