I had to share this solution with fellow GMCrs excerpted from the Reader
Advice section of this Month's Hemming Motor News. "My Local Hardware store
TruValue in Menands NY is run by some real car restoration buffs, the
Augustinos, who put me on to Fresh Cab Botanical Rodent Repellant. Each box
has 4 pouches of a wood chip mixture, infused with Balsam Fir Oil. I put
one oouch in the engine comprtment, 2 pouches in the interior, one in the
trunk, and put the car cover on. I still put a tray or two of moth balls
under each car.
It seems to work (only a single cache of nut shells this past spring in my
four old Jags) and the residual aroma dissipates quickly. The Company is
Earth-Kind, Inc at 800-583-2921, www.earth-kind.com or info@earth-kind.com"
I haven't tried it yet but being from that area with first hand knowledge
of the destructive squirrel problem, if it worked once it should work again
and offers an alternative (death) to this situation.
