I installed Howell fuel injection a few years ago. This winter when I went out and started it during the cold weather, note here in GA that is not very often. It will start up immediately and run at 1500 rpm, then it will periodically drop in rpm down to 500 rpm or less then back up to 1000 and then maybe back to 1500, This was not my experience with it in the past. I used to have the idle rpm set at 750, and it used to run like a dream. When i discussed problem with Howell, they suggested that I open throttle idle screw up to get more air flow. I did this to achieve 1200, and it helped some for a while, then it started again so I upped to 1500. Note when it goes into drive it drops to 750 to 800. When running at idle, it varies 50 rpm up and down, and now when I start, it takes several revolutions before it starts, It used to start instantly. Any suggestions as to what I need to check or adjust. I was concerned it might be old gas, and I went out and got 10 gallons of new gas to try and improve it. Could not see any change. I welcome any thoughts you might have on the subject.
