Hi Guys

I'm trying to find a picture of a version of a GMC I saw some time ago.

It was off shoot brand of a GMC, similar to a Roll-A-Long Santana.

If I recall the company produced them in 28, 30 or 32' versions, they had
pantograph wipers on the front, and some other differences. Does anyone have a
link this this?

I thought the name started with an S but I can't for the life of me find it.

Thanks

Ray

Interesting that they had a 4.1 final drive. I wonder what final drive they used.

Bill,

A 4.1 final drive would make sense if one assumes the 454 is a Chevy (bigger bore / shorter stroke), however, I read the ad
carefully but didn't see anything about a 4.1 final drive.

Am I going blind?

Regards,
Rob M.

Ray,

Me neither, however, at 34 feet it's a bit "over the top" for my liking. I reckon Clarence Buskirk got it right at 29 feet; two feet
in front of the bogies and one foot behind.

I've seen a couple and I like JR & Janet Wright's the best; it's got a light colored wood interior and is really bright.

Rob M.

I think you're right Rob, the 29' would be about perfect. But my 26 is fine.
The item I'd like to have is the pantograph wipers, the swing on the OEM wiper
design is bad news. especially for the passenger.

Ray,

Thanks!

I spotted a few other differences:

The front brake rotor is spec'd at 12.25 in. x 1.25 in. Ours are 11.00 in. x 1.20 in. I wonder if they're 1 Ton?

The photos of the front and rear suspension appear to be fabrications, NOT from a GMC.

The rear brake drums are not like a GMC.

The air bags look like the one's we're using now to replace the GMC OEM bags.

The motorhome in the upper left corner appears to have HUGE tires, I wonder if that's the 4WD? Is it a Revcon?

Regards,
Rob M.

Yep. Not sure it's a Revcon with the fat tires and 4WD. Revcon had the flat
walls on the side like that. Could be a Pace Arrow unit, too. Note also that
there are no tandem wheels in the rear.

I agree. Buskirks 29-foot made sense. It also made sense to GM as well. It
was left on the drawing board according to the story I've heard.
