In replacing the carpet in our GMC, I removed the front seat belts. One was secured with some kind of glue, another had the anchor missing. The belts screw into a bolt which is welded to a rectangular plate. This plate is secured inside a "C" channel with two rivets. When pushing one bolt through the floor, the rivets gave way and the plate fell. I then secured the bolts with lock washers and nuts, grade 8, rather than try to re-rivet the plate.
Remove the wheel well liners and check how your belts are secured. Obviously, this is an important safety issue.
Also noted: low fuel warning light had not been operable.
THe windshield washer switch is lost somewhere under the dash.
I think the new fuel senders I installed are not working either. Result, no fuel level reading on the fuel gauges. Hmmm! Yes, they are wired correctly and grounded.
