Worked on this 6K Onan in Coach 2 75 model. Onan would crank but not start. Replaced circuit board from Jim K, still no start.
Long story short, with the help of fully functional Onan in Coach 1, traced broken wire from magneto, tweaked frozen carb and fired up nicely.
Now the problem. Won't shut off!
Found that the PO cut the shut down wire likely to bypass a faulty circuit board, and wired the fuel pump to shut down the unit. Let it run out of gas!
Beware the PO! Very Happy

After working with Dick Patrson and others, we finally came up with a
simple but very powerful ignition system.
We use a MSD Capacitive Discharge unit modified to run on 2 cylinder unit.
The original point now are used for switching only and the unit fires the
plugs twice in case the first one does not fire off the mixture.
We now run the Onan plug gap at .30" gap.

Hey JimK, would that unit fire if there were a Pertronix unit installed
instead of points?
