Dan,
Can you walk on the 1/4" tempered glass?
More importantly, could a fat bugger like me walk on it (265lb)?
For those of you that want to see what Dan & Teri did:

You are right Emery. I can laugh now but it was no laughing matter then, either time. First thing I did was have Teri find me the
Black List and we called Steve Ferguson.
The glass is 1/4 inch tempered glass. About 24x24 inches. Wally did his before I did. This glass thing is not for everyone but it
sure eases my mind to be able to see that engine and frontend. Anything is leaking you will see it, if you have a wife like mine. I
tend to forget to look, not Teri. :d I watch gauges on the dash.
Oh man, life in an old GMC is so much fun, breakdowns or not. We have done about 45,000 miles since 06, and have "set" for the last
two, except for the conventions. Preventive maintenance will prevent most tow truck calls. I think that is what the survey is for.
Sorry if I got too far off topic.
Dan

Dan,
Thanks for the info, however, I damn sure wouldn't jump up and down on it with my fat a$$! ;-)

Yes Rob, you can walk on it. When we put it in I got up there and jumped up and down on it. If it would break I wanted it to break
before we took off for our first trip to San Francisco and on up 101 to Washington State. Has been in there now since the Spring of
07. It suits us fine. One time I covered part of it with a blanket. It was 112 degrees all across Az. Our dash air quit and we were
running the Onan and roof air. Finally cooled down to 90 in Barstow at 10 pm so we stopped for the night. Not nearly as much heat
comes through this as folks think. We made it one piece. Wally has a 2 piece one that looks really nice.

Robin,
When I saw that you had responded to this message I figger'd you say it would make videoing the engine while it was running easy!
;-)

I think it looks great. I think I would add some kind of blue or green or
red LEDs lights. :)
