Just my opinion... but if for some reason there ceases to be a listserve then I'm out. Web-based forums have too much clutter and eye candy for my taste and all that visual racket serves only to obscure the essential content that I'm interested in. Not to mention I'd lose all of my email rulesets that automatically ditch messages that say "Off Topic" or "non-gmc" in the subject - or those rules that flag messages with certain keywords or that originate from certain people.
I realize many people like the web format and it is great that we have both to choose from.

Two free add-ons, Ad Blocker Plus and Ghostery, and you'll never see another ad on a website. Well, almost never.
