If you appear to be getting weird e-mail, it appears that the Yahoo group "Dixielanders" e-mail list has been penetrated.
Recommend that when you e-mail, especially group e-mails, use BBC for the additional addresses.

On your email page there is a "BBC" option somewhere; Click on it and a second address line opens up for all secondary addresses and they are hidden from view.

A mistaken capitalization. Should be BCC or blind carbon copy. Means that those listed address as BCC will not be forwarded to all recipients. Spammers will have no easy way to find your e-mail list, or other contacts.
Actually, I've read to just send e-mail back to you, and then BCC the actual recipient. This greatly reduces the opportunity for spammers to grab your e-mail address list.
Spam is one of the reasons that I don't publish the Dixielander membership list on the web.

Thanks George and Tom. Couldn't find BCC either. Will have son-in-law take a look. He's much brighter about these things than I.
Couldn't find 'Dixielanders' of Yahoo groups either, only a porn site by that name. Too old for that much excitement. If there is an active forum for the Dixielanders, I don't seem to be getting any emails.
I have recently subscribed to Facebook, Twitter, Bookreads and such to help promote my book. I hope they haven't gotten into my email addresses and cause anyone any pain.

May I conclude, from this, that to post emails to the Dixielander's and perhaps those on The Black List, information about my book would be considered as 'spam'? I had considered post cards, except for the expense. Sure seems easy for me to get into trouble around here. :-)

Spam was my favorite lunch in the cotton patch, as a kid. Two slices between to pieces of bread. Lots of mustard.
