Time to check the engine and other compartments for mice/rodents
habitation. Unfortunately, I've had wiring harnesses damaged in both
my Buick and Equinox in the last month. $1000 Need I say more? One
required an entire wiring harness to be replaced while the other one
was able to be repaired. Still an expensive proposition. Due to the
dang modern covers over the engines, it was not noticeable until the
infamous Check Engine light came on.
Now loaded with moth balls and additional mouse traps under the
parking areas. Just hope it works. We may have to starve Donna's
worthless cat for a while till he becomes hungry enough to handle the
problem for real.

Ground squirrels? Last year I tried to plant a vegetable garden for the first time and after a ton of work and money, seedlings started coming up in my shiny new raised beds only to be decimated by the ground squirrels, who also dug everything up and planted their own seeds from a neighbor's feeder. We tried all of the humane ways of dealing with them - cayenne pepper, etc - but the little guys were undeterred.
The Squirrelinator was our answer. Caught 4 the first day, 2 the next, then 1, then 1, then none... and have not seen one for about 9 months now. I feel like a jerk, but they were also eroding the slope next to our yard with their burrows so they had to go.
It was about $70 and worth every penny, if you can stomach it.
We have yet to find rodents in the motorhome but if we do, IT'S ON.

We have surrounded our coach with LED rope lights on the ground. Mice are nocturnal and don't like to cross them. It's not 100% but cuts the traffic way down.

I read someplace that if you took aluminum (like the 24" aluminum that is used for covering wood trim on houses) and made a square around each tire (standing on edge and going from the ground to as high as possible) or set of tires and anything else that touches the ground.
mice need something to climb up on (using the tires in this case) They have trouble climbing the slick painted aluminum.
Again just something i read.

Well it would have to be a very tall item, without seams. We had a mouse in the house early this winter. The little bugger was raiding the seed cup on Chloe's (cockatoo) T-stand. The little bugger was climbing up the near by ottoman and then leaped to the T-stand platform which was 8" up from the ottoman and 10" horizontal from it. It took us a few days to figure out the missing seeds really were being stolen and that it had to be a mouse. Careful late night surveillance work from the recliner finally observed the method. When I went to grab the perpetrator it leaped 4' down from the top of the T-stand and out about 3+ feet. Then an extremely fast escape. We could not get the bugger with traps spread out around the house and T-stand. Finally got the critter with a snap trap taped to the seed cup.
Around here poison and traps has not been totally effective. This year we finally have not seen any mouse activity in the barn. I credit that to neighborhood cats who have volunteered to patrol our property. I suspect they like to hunt here as the poison may make our mice somewhat slower than their home mice.

As I considered joining the GMC cult, this vermin problem never hit my radar. I've had the problem with stored vehicles & equipment over the years (mostly House Wrens, black snakes, and feral cats) but not so much with rolling stock. Since I'm planning to put the twins in a pole building, I think i'll construct a lightweight perimeter skirt out of 2'x8' vinyl lattice, window screen, 1/4" hardware cloth, and foam pipe insulation.
My idea is to fit it to a dedicated parking space by attaching a few hinge points to the floor. When in position, the lattice would fold up and lean against the body. The foam tubing would be split and used to cover the top edge. There would be a drawstring around the entire top edge to cinch in the foam tighter to the body. Under the coaches I slip in a bait tray of poison.
For those of us who readily acknowledge the superior intelligence of vermin when it comes to gaining access, the above rig is destined to fail but maybe it'll slow them down.

The CFO informs me the horizontal dimension was no where near 10". So, not near as an impressive leap as I remembered. I am still impressed with the resourcefulness exhibited by the wild things around here to survive.
