While it has been listed before I think this is the first time without reserve
Item number: 160952573789
Current bid is $1,475, I a sure it'll go up in the next four days.
Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with this coach... just pointing it out to readers of GMCnet. (but it does look like a nice coach... in the pictures.)

It does look like a nice coach (in the pictures). It would match my coachless toad perfectly.
Has anyone actually been in this one and had a look. Anyone close by for a visual?

Well, nothing like a topic killer... maybe I'll try something else.
It appears that the typical Avion ski storage area and the step have been removed. Am I missing something? Although the sofa doesn't look that comfortable, it appears the kitchen has been shortened considerably and the sofa is longer than the typical "loveseat" in an Avion...or is this just another interior configuration?
Rob, give me some of your thoughts. Also, any thoughts on having someone that lives in the area inspect it?

Stick,
We just pulled into Quartzsite. Could go by in the morning and take a look. I think it is the same one we looked at last year. If so, it has had some nice things done but, IIRC, it needed a little TLC. Don't know much about Avions, but would be more than happy to stop and take a look and snap a few pictures. Let me know.

Stick,
Your comments below are correct, it is not a standard Avion. Below are three links to brochures on Avions:
http://www.bdub.net/publications/Avion/Avion.htm
http://www.bdub.net/publications/Avion2/avion-int-261.htm
http://www.bdub.net/publications/Avion2/avion-int-231.htm
If you compare the info in the brochures above to this Avion you can see all the mods.
It appears that the beds have not been modified and therefore are still 75 inches long so you'll have the same problem due to your
height.

Hey Rob - glad you commented. You know I really didn't have that much trouble sleeping in the Royale. What I didn't like was that it was "all kitchen" with no living room. This thing appears to have a full length? sofa - not the love seat that you have as well as room for 2 comfortable chairs on the other side.
A glass or 2 of red wine and an Ambien and I could sleep on a rock. I do, however want more of an "awake" living space that this thing seems to have.
Had lunch with the Colonel today and Kerry Pinkerton as well as the missus. Good times and great January weather - 70 degrees tomorrow.
Thanks again for your comments. Probably out of my price range without a professional inspection and an eyewitness (me) inspection.

Medium rare!!!
A lot of pictures posted in the ebay listing so we tried not to duplicate those. I posted 28 pictures on the photo site:
<http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/g6271-quartzsite-gmc-for-sale.html>
with descriptions that cover most of what we saw.
A few more comments: While it appears to be a standard Avion layout based on the brochures that Rob posted, there has been some well done modifications. I'll start in the back and work forward. The right side bed is 32" x 77" while the left side is 38" x 75". The cabinets in the rear have all been redone or built from scratch. The closet has been redone which allows for the longer bed on that side. It also was extended into the hall a little. The hall measures 18" and 23" in front of fridge. The fridge doors opens about 75 degrees. Can't get shelves out without taking doors off. The kitchen has been shorten (didn't measure it). The sofa is not full size but measures 4'. The dinette has been removed. There is a fold-in table. We saw this coach last year and I don't believe there was anything in the dinette area then. The upper cabinet is deeper than most measuring 20 inches deep.
Two house ACs both cold. The front has a functional heat strip and puts out warm air. Didn't get warm air from the back so don't know if it didn't have the option (opt is on dial) or if it doesn't work.
Engine started and ran well. Transmission seemed tight. I didn't take it for a test drive. The coolant overflow bottle was empty for what that is worth. Does not have a macerator. Has a ragusa step, later model tail light lenses and a 3rd brake light. Different mirror heads (similar to Ramco) on the original mountings, wind wings but not screens.
We looked at this coach last year and they wanted $39,000. I posted a couple pictures then <http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/g5997-gmc-for-sale-in-quartzite.html> I thought then it was probably around a $10,000 coach for the right person. Still need some more check out of the mechanicals. I didn't have my compression checking gauge so can't comment on health of engine other than it started and ran well. And I have questions about why the paint doesn't match - why was the front repainted?
So, the comments above plus the descriptions on the photos pretty much gives you what I know. Send me an email if you have any further questions and I can give you a call to discuss.

Randy,
I thought I'd add my two cents re your photos. PLEASE do not interpret the comments below as criticism in any way, shape, or form of
what you stated or the way the coach was modified.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/quartzsite-gmc-for-sale/p47125-gmc-for-sale-on-ebay-located-in-quartzsite.html
The cabinet with the flip up door is WAY deeper than the OEM. The one with the vertical door is reminiscent of the GMC's the company
JimB was building before started the COOP. I can't remember the name of the company at the moment.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/quartzsite-gmc-for-sale/p47126-gmc-for-sale-on-ebay-located-in-quartzsite.html
The couch is way longer than the OEM (useless) love seat. The floor is level which means the ski storage cabinet was removed.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/quartzsite-gmc-for-sale/p47127-gmc-for-sale-on-ebay-located-in-quartzsite.html
Those drawers are wider and better made than the OEM drawers.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/quartzsite-gmc-for-sale/p47128-gmc-for-sale-on-ebay-located-in-quartzsite.html
OEM cooktop/oven with its cover / backsplash removed. Microwave above stove is convenient but it does block the window.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/quartzsite-gmc-for-sale/p47129-gmc-for-sale-on-ebay-located-in-quartzsite.html
The cabinets are WAY deeper (front to back) and taller (top to bottom) than the OEM cabinets. They will hold more, however, they
block part of the window. I'm at home and can't measure the ones in The Blue Streak for reference.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/quartzsite-gmc-for-sale/p47132-gmc-for-sale-on-ebay-located-in-quartzsite.html
Double Trouble has a two door Dometic two way fridge in it and the cabinet below it was made taller and the one above it was made
shorter. The upper cabinet is sealed and heat from the fridge coils go out the vent through the vent in the roof. The fridge doors
hit the outside wall of the bathroom across the aisle (BARELY) and do open far enough to get the drawers and shelves out - BARELY!
The OEM fridge was a single door Dometic. It wasn't as deep as the Dometic and the Norcold. To fit the larger two door fridges
(taller) you have to move the fridge towards the aisle to clear the inside of the GMC near the top of the fridge. Fortunately the
guy that installed the Dometic in Double Trouble didn't move it as far inwards as the guy that built this coach.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/quartzsite-gmc-for-sale/p47135-gmc-for-sale-on-ebay-located-in-quartzsite.html
I've never see these louvers installed facing forward?
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/quartzsite-gmc-for-sale/p47139-gmc-for-sale-on-ebay-located-in-quartzsite.html
The grill is gorgeous! However, there's LOTS of cross slates and they have square edges, I wonder how that affects airflow? The
bumper is beautiful too!
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/quartzsite-gmc-for-sale/p47141-gmc-for-sale-on-ebay-located-in-quartzsite.html
It appears that there is an aluminum shroud around the grill that directs the air to the radiator.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/quartzsite-gmc-for-sale/p47144-gmc-for-sale-on-ebay-located-in-quartzsite.html
Is that a heavy duty anti-sway bar?
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/quartzsite-gmc-for-sale/p47146-gmc-for-sale-on-ebay-located-in-quartzsite.html
That box is not OEM Avion; normally that's just an open space. There is a box under the passenger side bed behind the galvanized
Onan box that houses two 6 VDC house batteries:
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/xantrex-inverter-install/p31263-xantrex-sw-2000-instal.html
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/quartzsite-gmc-for-sale/p47147-gmc-for-sale-on-ebay-located-in-quartzsite.html
The OEM water heater is located here but it is electric, this is a custom installation as the electric water heater does not require
a sealed box / external vent.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/quartzsite-gmc-for-sale/p47148-gmc-for-sale-on-ebay-located-in-quartzsite.html
The galvanized box is OEM Avion; the tilt out storage containers are not, Hmmmm, might consider make a couple of those for magazine
/ book storage.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/quartzsite-gmc-for-sale/p47151-gmc-for-sale-on-ebay-located-in-quartzsite.html
WOW, that sunrise is so beautiful I'll bet Dan would even get up to see it! ;-)
In response to your comments:
To make the right side bed 77" long they had to cut the closet down by two inches. Hmmmm, another idea worth considering cause I' 6'
1.5" tall and sleep on the right (driver) side. It's OK but another 2 inches would make it mo betta!
I covered the fridge above.
The kitchen basically has no work surface unless the sink covers are installed. I installed a fold out cutting board as Helen wanted
more work surface. I copied what Emery did.
http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/g5643-galley-cutting-board-extension.html
Double Trouble had a couch on the passenger side, I wanted to remove it but Helen loved it. UNTIL we had a couple of friends over
for some drinks and it was raining. She quickly discovered having four people on a couch wasn't conducive to conversation due to
heads bobbing forward and backwards. Putting one person over on the love seat wasn't much better. We installed the OEM dinette out
of our parts coach and that was mo betta. HOWEVER, I find that squeezing my long legs under the dinette is difficult and not
particularly comfortable. I intend to remove the ski storage and raise the dinette seats as much as I can.
Looking at your pictures from last year it appears the rear bumper has no bolts either.
I reckon you're right on with the price of $10K maybe a bit more.
Regards,
Rob M.

Thanks for the comments, Rob. I still like this coach but won't be bidding since I can't put my hands on it. Not sure what a laying on of hands would do, but pictures always look better.
Too much storage for us. I'd have to seal up some of those drawers and do my best to make sure doors are hard to open. We will fill whatever spaces we have.
I like the small kitchen. I wonder if it could be made smaller with a single bar sink. No danger of any cooking going on in the Miller Coach. As long as we have a coffee pot we're good to go.
Thanks again for the comments.
