Does anyone know the best dvd or publication for Rt. 66? I mean one that would give us a good idea of what to look for, and not miss. Will be traveling from Joplin to California in our GMC, when we decide to go. Maybe this Fall after GMCMI in Branson. RV Newsletter has a dvd that is pretty expensive. I will pay it if I think it is what we need.
Thanks,
Dan

Anything to do with "The Mother Road". There is a lad that has a few books out there. Can't think of his name right now.
Williams?

Dan,

Funny you should ask this question, a Mate of mine up in the Gold Coast is planning a motorcycle tour along Route 66 for next year.
He sent me a bunch of links to different companies that do package tours. They all had detailed itineraries.

I just Googled "Route 66 Tours" and a bunch popped up.

Regards,
Rob M.

Dan, take 44 west out of Springfield....then take 96 at the Hallsville exit. Takes you thru Carthage. Some of that stretch is original Rt 66. At Carthage, the old route swung to the southwest towards Joplin. I have a few Mother Road books. Love that stuff.

Yes, I think I missed my period. Very Happy

Dan,
Prior to our 2008 excursion, I did a lot of research and settled on a publication called "EZ66 - Route 66 guide for travelers"
I will try to remember to pack it for Dothan and then you can look at it at least until Branson. If you then want to borrow it for your excursion, we would not mind.

Matt
