Hi all,
I'm looking through my X7321A operator's manual and X7425 maintenance
manual for the procedures for front and rear wheel bearing
maintenance. I must be missing something obvious, because I can't seem
to find it.
From http://gmcmotorhome.info/front.html I know that the front
bearings should be serviced every 25k miles, and from the same source
I know of the various upgrades and modifications that can be done, but
what I'm looking for is the original maintenance procedures (what to
do and what to check) for both the front and rear wheel bearings.
The maintenance schedule in X7321A on page 67 mentions rear wheel
bearings, every 24k miles. Doesn't seem to mention front bearings at
all.
The maintenance schedule in X7425 on page 0-6 mentions rear wheel
bearings, every 24k miles. Doesn't seem to mention front bearings at
all.
Neither manual seems to mention a specific procedure for the basic
maintenance, which I assume is removing the wheels, packing the
bearings, and replacing the wheels. X7425 does tell you how to tear
down the front wheels, but doesn't mention anything about packing the
bearings.
What am I missing here?

Hi Sean
Check the '78 manual and maintenance schedule. Prior to '78 the 24,000
service said rear wheel bearings, staring in '78 it says wheel bearings.
