Based on the 2010 census, here are maps of the us, with a dot per person:

Past the east slope of the Rockies, there is nothing until you hit the west
coast. So that's why.

Neat map. Now, we need a similar map showing GMC active ownership distribution. Google maps will allow such an overlay, just input geo data.

Pretty easy to do. I've seen lots of things like this:

Unfortunately, someone would have to manually input the data from the registry.

If you take into consideration that inner cities are not very motorhome friendly, I would expect the "GMC owner" distribution to be fairly much the same as "normal" population distribution.
